When you think of family what comes to mind? do you think of problems? Abandonment? Or maybe you are one who thinks of family gatherings, peaceful talks, and family dinner.
Today I want to focus on the last three I mentioned. WE should all have the peaceful talks everyday and family dinners at least once a week at the dinner table. Peaceful talks are what keep communication going in any household. Communication is key to maintaining a healthy household. When you choose to communicate, you are allowing peace to come. Everyone should know that when you have peace, you have better communication. Then the family will be able to gather in the living room after dinner for a nice bible study.
So just incase you may be having a bit of problems getting everyone together just remember, raising your kids a certain way that pleases the Lord will bring a bountiful harvest. It says so here:
Proverbs 22:6 ESV(English Standard Version)
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
When you hear the word family, what comes to mind? A brother? A sister? Maybe it is your parents or grandparents? It is all of that, and then some. I am here to talk about the other part of family. The part that no one really talks about. Family you see on the streets the family that is on the corner asking for help. What do you do? do you help? Do you just drive by? Would you just pass by your grandma who is struggling to pay for rent or groceries? NO? Well the same goes for our family who we have never met until you see them on the corner or in front of a restaurant who is asking for a burger.
I went to a restaurant today to pickup food for a friend and ran in to a family member in christ. He got my attention and the first thing I thought was 'oh he needs money' but was i totally wrong. he may have had no home or anything to eat but my assumption was wrong and I realized it when all he wanted to do was talk to someone. I thought to myself, how could i be so mean to a brother in Christ? We need to take time to take to our family because you never know what they need to tell you. God could be using them to tell you some important information.
So please everybody, this holiday season please pay more attention to your family who may just want to talk. The gentleman I talked to today was just talking about life and he asked me if I could bring him a plate on thanksgiving. He was willing to wait for thanksgiving to ask me for some food. Believe me when i say this, I am definitely bringing him a big thanksgiving plate!
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Happy Holidays Everyone.
Special Thanks to the gentleman who stopped me to talk. Without you, this post wouldn't have happened.
